Logan Regional

Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women’s Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed. Summary:

Performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans.   Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.  Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable. Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.   Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label.   Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions.     Document appropriate charging of procedures and supplies.   Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.   Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.    Maintain accurate patient records.


Qualifications

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Must have credentials as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Registered Computed Tomographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Active West Virginia license by the Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists.
