Description

Job Summary: 

Responsible for development, support, training, and expertise in clinical areas for assigned Region. Under the direction of the Region Vice President of Clinical Operations and in collaboration with other Region and Support Center Management and hospital Chief Operations/Clinical Officers, develops core standardized clinical policies and procedures to achieve Region’s mission, vision, and goals.  Works with VP, Clinical Operations to provide support to Region facilities to implement established standards of care.  Provides editing input to improve monitoring practice and implementations.

Essential Functions 

•  Actively supports the National Quality Program for ScionHealth.  Provides education and training and functions as a resource to Support Center, Division, Region, and facility staff in specific areas that include clinical and operational issues, infection control, OSHA, performance improvement,         regulatory compliance, job descriptions, risk management, and clinically related human resource issues. Specific emphasis is placed on implementing and executing clinical policies and practices.

•  Assists with the development of core, standardized clinical programs and systems to assist facilities to meet regulatory requirements and provide quality care.

•  Supports Region and Support Center review and development of policies, procedures, and systems to maintain legal and regulatory requirements.  Assists hospital in complying with Policy Requirements for ScionHealth.

•  Implements required pathways for patient care documentation in the electronic medical record.

• Under the direction of the Vice President of Clinical Operations, supports the orientation and education process for clinical leadership, including the Chief Clinical Officer. 

•  Performs and directs facility-level clinical analysis through on-site visits and report reviews. 

•  Reviews and analyzes research data regarding clinical processes to make recommendations for appropriate, cost-effective process improvements.

•  Evaluates effectiveness of new products for use in all clinical settings.

•  Completes special project requests timely as directed by the Vice President of Clinical Operations and/or Senior Vice President of Operations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations: 

•  Excellent organizational skills.

•  Work independently with minimum supervision.

•  Ability to communicate in English effectively through verbal and written means.

•  Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

•  Ability to work under stress and in emergency situations.

•  Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word processing and spreadsheet software.

•  Excellent understanding of electronic medical records.

•  Approximate percent of time required to travel: 75%


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:        

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required;

Master’s degree in nursing, or other healthcare related fields required   

Licenses/Certification:    

Registered Nurse 

Experience:         

Minimum five years’ experience in clinical management and leadership positions. Experience in hospital setting with multi-facility responsibilities. Nurse executive experience preferred.
